Meet nine-time Paralympic champion Robin Surgeoner MBE

Virtual event suitable for adults and young people aged 14+

Attendees of this virtual talk and Q&A with nine-time Paralympic champion swimmer Robin Surgeoner MBE found out what it took to compete at an elite level in the pool. Robin competed at three Paralympic Games from 1984 to 1992. They hear how those experiences have informed Robin’s life after competition as a swim coach, song writer and poet - opportunities Robin describes as empowering. The broad focus for the talk was about inclusion and how that is reflected in real terms in the media coverage surrounding disability sport. BSL interpreter Sarah Hobbs joined this event.

You can learn more about Robin on his Paralympic athlete page here.
