Peter Finbow, from Bradford, won bronze medals at the 2004 Paralympic Games in Athens and also in Beijing in 2008.

He was also part of the GB Wheelchair Basketball Team at the 2012 Paralympics in London.

Peter now volunteers as a coach and has worked with members of the current GB Men’s and Women’s Wheelchair Basketball Teams. The men won the gold medal and the women won the silver at the recent World Championships in Hamburg.

It’s rewarding to give a player an insight into what made me the International player I was, which was largely down to other coaches, the majority of whom gave their time voluntarily to support me in my early career. It was these people that inspired me to become a coach, to get back into the British Wheelchair Basketball family and help make any future programmes that I’m involved with better for players and future GB athletes.
