About Ella Bee Glendining

Ella Bee Glendining is a filmmaker, writer and actor. A graduate of Norwich University of the Arts where she achieved a First, she has made several short films, predominantly specialising in writing and directing. ‘POWER TO THE MINI BEASTS’ won Best Experimental Short at the BFI Future Film Festival 2016, a two-minute film that explores the feeling of being part of a minority. Her graduation film, ‘The One You Were Born In’ is a drama / documentary hybrid with themes of disability, addiction and queerness. She has recently written and directed a film produced with Screen South and funded by the Arts Council for Channel Four’s Random Acts called ‘Like Sunday’, which is soon to be released. As a disabled person, she is particularly interested in challenging society’s perception of disability in her work, and frequently acts in her own films. Ella auditioned for and was accepted onto BBC Class Act 2017, a national programme to support and raise the profile of disabled actors. Soon, she is to be taking part in Directors UK Inspire Mentorship Partnership, in which she will be shadowing director Marc Munden throughout the production process of major feature ‘The Secret Garden’.
