Visit us Past events and exhibitions Bringing Paralympic History to the Virtual Space We were thrilled to be kicking off Disability History Month by celebrating our Global Virtual Museum as part of Buckinghamshire History Festival. On Friday 15th November at 12:30pm, we gave attendees the chance to find out more about one of our most ambitious projects to date. In 2023, the NPHT embarked on a five year strategy, aimed at becoming 'Seamlessly Inclusive'. Our mission is to make Paralympic history accessible to all, and create resources in collaboration with those who have a lived experience of disability. The Global Virtual Museum is a core part of this plan, allowing us to share captivating stories about the Paralympics, disability sport and disability history, in a dynamic virtual space that can be accessed by anyone, from anywhere. In this event, Dr Samuel Brady, our Collections Engagement Officer took us through the first year of the Global Virtual Museum's development. He discussed how our galleries were created, the fascinating histories within, the challenges we faced and the exciting developments that lie ahead. We learned so much in our first year, we just had to share the journey with you! Booking for this event is closed. Enjoyed the talk? Feedback We are a registered charity who offer our events for free; it’s important to us that there are no barriers to people being able to attend. For every £2 donated to NPHT, we will reach another child with our work on disability. Please give what you can.
