As a special offer for 'National Lottery Open Week', we're offering guided tours on Wednesday 19th March to anyone who shows a National Lottery ticket, Instant Win Game, or scratch card (physical or digital), to say thank you for your valuable support.

Discover the history of the Paralympic Games, at their birthplace, with a guided tour of our Heritage Centre and the Stoke Mandeville Stadium site. In this exclusive offer you'll have the opportunity to handle some fantastic objects from our collection. So if you've ever wondered what it feels like to hold a Paralympic torch up high, then it's your time!

The National Lottery Heritage Fund has supported the delivery of our ground-breaking strategy; to become, and help others become 'Seamlessly Inclusive'. This allows us to support the employment and development of four disabled Museum trainees, and to deliver our biggest project yet; an interactive online museum.

Your lottery ticket, helps us to share the incredible history of the Paralympics and National Disability Sport Organisations. In 2024, we launched the British Blind Sport Gallery. This involved a programme of co-curation, collaborating with focus groups with lived experience of disability, to develop sensory audio descriptions for objects on display across the whole virtual museum. You're not just making a difference online. This work also led to the creation of a tactile blind football pitch model, for visitors to enjoy in our dedicated Heritage Centre, made by 2d Print World. You can visit our physical exhibitions at our Heritage Centre and at venues across the country.

The grant will continue to support us in the development of the museum, with dedicated online galleries for Cerebral Palsy Sport and Dwarf Sports Association UK to come in 2025 and 2026 respectively.

National Lottery Funding also helps us to deliver free exhibitions and events, such as our Meet the Paralympian talks, removing the financial barrier which prevents some people from accessing them. To check out our latest offerings, click here.

The work we do is made possible by the amazing generosity of National Lottery players. If that's you - then please join us for a guided tour, and allow us to say thank you personally, by showing you exactly what you have helped us to achieve.
