The National Paralympic Heritage Trust, which was established on 11th November 2015, exists to enlighten and inspire future generations by celebrating, cherishing and bringing the Paralympic heritage and its stories of human endeavour to life.

The Trust owes much to its founding Chairman Paul Mainds, whose vision, commitment and sheer energy and enthusiasm for what the Trust is about over the last four years has been crucial in our establishment. Paul is stepping down due to other commitments and alongside appointing a new Chairman to lead the Trust on the next stage of its journey as it focusses on turning the plans into action, we are looking to appoint up to three independent Trustees.

You could be drawn from the world of culture, heritage, disability or sport, or beyond, but you will share our passion for preserving and celebrating the heritage of the UK as the birth place of the Paralympic movement and it is likely you will have an understanding of, and access to, important networks or contacts in the sport and/or heritage sectors. You will also need to be committed to our aims and values, and to equality and diversity.

We are looking for skills and experience in one of the following areas:

  • Culture and heritage sector - including collections and archives, and engagement in particular.
  • Fundraising experience - particularly in the cultural sector.
  • Finance experience - ideally with a formal financial qualification to support sound financial management within the Trust.

We value diversity throughout our organisation and we are specifically looking to improve disability and ethnic diversity of our board as well as the gender balance.  As well as welcoming applications from everyone, we are therefore particularly keen to encourage candidates with disabilities, from BAME groups and women to apply.

Closing Date - Applications should be received by Monday 2nd July 2018. Interviews will take place in July.
