Paralympic Games Mascots

Mascots have been a part of the Paralympic Games since 1980 when 2 squirrels named Noggi and Joggi represented friendship at the Arnhem Games in the Netherlands.

Learn about some of the mascots that we have at the Paralympic Heritage Centre in Stoke Mandeville Stadium from NPHT volunteer Christy.

Then work in groups of 3 and have a go at creating your own design for a mascot with our resident artist Amy.

When you’ve finished why not share your design as a colouring in sheet with other students in your class.

Give your mascots a name and think about what they stand for.  You might want to use some of the Paralympic values in your descriptions; these are DICE:

  • Determination
  • Inspiration
  • Courage
  • Equality

We would love to see your designs and hear about the ideas behind your creations.  Please share with us at: [email protected]

Have fun!
