The UK’s largest learning disabled theatre company, Mind The Gap

Jez Colbourne was commissioned to produce the performance piece ‘Irresistible’ that featured at the Unlimited Festival as part of the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad. This placed Bradford learning disabled artists at the heart of cultural responses to the Games. It was a great honour for the world renowned and UK leading inclusive theatre company from Bradford to be at the heart of an era defining Paralympic Games.

Performers, support crew, film makers, editors, choreographers and producers from Bradford and Yorkshire were recruited and enthusiastically performed on the world stage.

The legacy continues: Jez and Mind The Gap were also commissioned by the PRS Foundation to create a new piece of music created in and around a shipping container, called ‘GIFT’. This piece premiered at the New Music Biennial as part of the Commonwealth Games celebrations in Glasgow in 2014. Jez Colborne, and Mind the Gap, continue to develop works and themes that build on the positive legacy and profile of the London 2012 Paralympic Games and Cultural Olympiad.
